Operating alongside our renowned Half Day Rafting Adventure, the Mini-Max Rafting Adventure commences with an exhilarating 1.5-mile descent through the dynamic Class III Shoshone Rapids. Progressing past Grizzly Creek, the journey smoothly transitions into a more leisurely and scenic stretch of the river. This segment of the adventure offers a delightful float with intermittent splashes and occasional Class II-III waves, guiding adventurers through the towering 1500' walls of Glenwood Canyon, ultimately concluding in Glenwood Springs. For additional excitement, participants can choose to swim alongside the raft during various sections of the trip, especially on those blissfully warm summer days. Spanning over 12 miles of river, the Mini-Max Rafting Adventure ensures a perfect blend of whitewater thrills, awe-inspiring scenery, and moments of relaxation—a truly inclusive experience for everyone.

What sets it apart is the small group dynamic, with a maximum of 4 participants (plus a guide) in a Mini-Max raft—a playful and active 10.5′ paddle raft. Glenwood Canyon Rafting is the exclusive provider of this trip, so if you’re seeking an adrenaline-fueled experience, this is the one for you. Hanging Lake Adventure Co-op recommends participants to have prior Class III+ rafting experience before hopping into this lively boat.

This trip begins at the Shoshone Rapids (an app. 2 mile Class III to III+ section on the Colorado River) then continues downriver for approximately 12 miles (average flows), ending at the Blue Sky Rafting private boat ramp in West Glenwood Springs.
