Becoming a river guide requires completing a mandatory two-week training course provided by our partner, Glenwood Canyon Rafting. The certification received upon completion is recognized by the state of Colorado and easily transferrable to most other states. If you are already certified as a river guide in Colorado, the course is not mandatory, but successful completion of “Check Out” exams for each river section is still necessary.

For those certified in other states, a transfer form is available to bring your training to Colorado. If this applies to you, please inform us.

Upon completing the training, it is essential to have personal protective equipment, including a PFD (lifejacket), helmet, whistle, and river knife. After training, you become eligible for pro-deals, allowing you to purchase these items at a reduced cost.
