Embark on the Half Day Rafting Adventure with Glenwood Canyon Rafting, in collaboration with our partner Hanging Lake Adventure Co-op. Choose from five convenient meeting times daily to customize your river adventure to your preferred schedule. The thrilling journey begins with a 1.5-mile descent through the dynamic and continuous Class III Shoshone Rapids. As the expedition progresses, it transforms into a more tranquil and picturesque stretch of the river. Starting from Grizzly Creek, the adventure offers a delightful float with occasional splashes and Class II-III waves, guiding adventurers through the towering 1500' walls of Glenwood Canyon before concluding in Glenwood Springs.

Covering over 12 miles of river, the Half Day Rafting Adventure strikes the ideal balance between whitewater excitement, stunning scenery, and moments of relaxation, ensuring there's something for everyone. At various points along the trip, participants even have the option to enjoy a refreshing swim alongside the raft, particularly delightful on those warm summer days.

MOST POPULAR RIVER TRIP – This excursion is the “bread and butter,” striking the perfect balance between delightful Class III rapids and scenic floating in the heart of Glenwood Canyon on the Colorado River. Moreover, if some members of your group prefer to skip the initial 2 miles of the Shoshone Rapids, simply merge the Half Day Adventure with the Mild & Scenic Half Day to create a customized river adventure suitable for all participants. Glenwood Canyon Rafting has been offering this trip since 1975, and the morning trip times are historically favored by guides, as the river and boat ramps are quieter and less congested, further enhancing an already enjoyable experience.

This trip begins at the Shoshone Rapids (an app. 2 mile Class III to III+ section on the Colorado River) then continues downriver for approximately 12 miles (average flows), ending at the Blue Sky Rafting private boat ramp in West Glenwood Springs.
